Conference weather How to find us:
By car: Leave M25 at junction 25. Take A10 northbound towards Cambridge. Leave A10 and take slip road into Hoddesdon. At roundabout take third exit, following signs to Parish Church. Turn right into Pauls Lane. Follow the road round to the left into Taverners Way. At T-junction turn right into Lord Street. High Leigh is 3/4 mile up the hill on the left. (7 miles total).
By train: the nearest station is two miles away at Broxbourne. There is a regular service from Liverpool Street Station (30 minutes). Thence by taxi (2 miles).
Most rooms are single, some double rooms are available. Corridors have shared bathroom and toilet facilities and have shaver points. Rooms with en-suite facilities available. Guests need to bring their own soap and towels.
By foot from the station: (About a 30 minute walk)
- As soon as you come down the steps from the station turn right, through a kissing gate (partly hidden by a notice)
- Climb the steps and turn right along the canal path
- Cross the canal at the third footbridge
- Follow the road (Upper Marsh Lane) to a T junction. Turn right
- At the roundabout turn left (Cock Lane)
- Cross Park View. Then turn right into the park's car park
- In the far corner take the track through a pair of cast iron gates, past the rather grand park keeper's cottage
- Keep to the right till you come to a well cut grassy hill
- Aim for the higher ground, past a park bench
- Keep to the left side till you come down to the end of the green, where you bear slightly to the right
- Follow the path. Ignore the gate on the left
- Where the path splits take the left, higher, path where it rises gently to a kissing gate through to a field (the right, lower, path goes to a duck pond)
- Follow the path worn in the grass straight ahead. Aim for a clump of trees like scots pines on the brow of the hill
- To your right you will see a kissing gate in a barbed wire fence. This is the entrance to the High Leigh grounds.
- The path will take you to the back of the building. Follow the signs to Reception to book in.
